At first sight this guy seems weird but after you get to know what he is about you begin to admire him but still think he’s kind of weird. His teachings have helped me in my journey of spiritual enlightenment. Man, I sound like a hippie and a few years ago I’d be looking at myself funny and thinking I was a nutzoid. Did I just make up another word?
He’s not like Tony Robbins who is a motivational teacher. Eckhart Tolle teaches how to end the misery in your life by making you realize it’s all in the mind. Tony Robbins shows you how to achieve your ambitions or at least what you tell yourself your ambitions are.
I’m currently reading his first book, “The Power of Now” and I highly recommend it. However, you have to realize your way of thinking is not working for you to be really able to benefit from his teachings. I watched a DVD from one of his seminars and read his column in this free publication but that was at a time where I was still engaged in my brainwashed life. I sort of believed what he had to say but just like any good quote or advice I was exposed to, I forgot about it in 5 minutes and went back to my life of mental conformity.
This guy isn’t out to be the next rockstar spiritual teacher. He really just wants to show everyone the way. He’s highly praised by Oprah and also Jim Carrey is a follower of his teachings. Those names may not mean anything to you but in case it does, there you go.
