This post is not as exciting as I’m making it sound. So I put some sweet potatoes in the oven last night so I can have them for the next couple days. I turned off the oven but left them in there for 24 hours. I think we’ve all been put in the situation where you wonder if the food in front of you is still good to eat but you end up eating it anyway against your better judgement. I haven’t ate it yet but I’m going to cause I guess I’m being cheap and lazy, knowing full well that situations like this one can often lead to regret and gut wrenching food poisoning.
I guess you can call me an explorer like Christopher Columbus. Willing to take chances to seek out unknown answers. Yes, that’s what I am, an explorer, like Christopher Columbus.
My rationale for thinking this will be ok is that potatoes can be stored in room temperature so what difference will it make if I cook it and then store it in room temperature? It’s must be like rice. I’ve eaten rice left in the rice cooker for 24 hours many times. I’ll just make sure to heat it up really well cause you know the golden rule, heat kills all bacteria! Sometimes anyway.
